Founded in 1746 Princeton played in the first ever college football game -- losing 6-4 to Rutgers in 1869. In 1877 the Tigers took the field wearing the first college football uniforms: a jersey with an orange “P” a jacket knee pants and stockings. Princeton was part of the Ivy League’s Big Three along with Harvard and Yale. Tigers greats include Dick Kazmaier the 1951 Heisman winner and basket ball great Bill Bradley the All-American legend later serving as a senator from New Jersey. Hat is black and orange.
