In the United States, it's hard to get any more ancient than the Ivy League. Known by insiders as the Ancient Eight, the Ivy League's earliest member, Harvard, was established nearly 150 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The Ivysport Story

They say necessity is the mother of invention. Ivysport was started by Eric Barnes, a Princeton freshman back in 1986.

Searching for a better way to help pay for tuition, Eric quit his minimum wage job flipping eggs in his residential college to launch the first "Ivy" shirt - one that featured Princeton among all its 7 Ivy rivals.

Called "It's Lonely at the Top", the shirt was an instant hit and quickly landed at all eight Ivy campus bookstores.

Flash forward nearly 14 years to 2000. With the rise of the Internet, Eric and fellow Ivy alum launched Ivysport.com online so that students, alumni and fans could easily find great Ivy apparel no matter where they lived.

Ivysport grew out of the traditions of the Ivy League. We look forward to continuing to serve the alumni, students and fans of the Ivy League. Celebrating the pursuit of excellence in academics, ​athletics and the game of life since 2000.
